This weeks reading task was on a text called: The Winning Side. The text was about looking at perspectives and speaking up when you believe in something. In the task we answered some questions, worked on vocab and gave a persuasive paragraph on what we believe in (something we would change in school as a leader).
The Sea Devil – Reading
This weeks reading task was on a book named: The Sea Devil. We answered a few questions and worked on our vocab in this task. Ending with a create task, where we had to make a “WANTED” poster for: The Sea Devil. We are learning to justify our opinions about the text.
MeMe and Me – Reading
This was our last reading task of Term 3. It is based on the short story – MeMe and Me – about online friendships/toxic friendships. The task is filled with follow up questions and vocab work. From word meaning to our opinions on having social media at an intermediate age.
Phobia – Reading
This weeks reading task was about a book named: Phobia, by Peter Friend. We are learning to make connections and inferences within the text given. You can see some of this in action on slide 2, where we were tasked to answer questions about the book. The rest of the presentation is tasks to help us improve our vocabulary.
Inference in Poetry – Understanding Poetry
This week we have been working on Poetry and language features. We read “The Rose That Grew From Concrete” and “Tattoo”, by Tupac Shakur and Ted Kooser.
Commonwealth Games – Reading
Today we were in Mrs Stones literacy class and finished a task on the commonwealth games. We answered questions and then made an ad for the create task. I worked with Finau!
Is Stealing Okay? – Argument/Debate Board
Today in Literacy we worked on Reading, more specifically debate topics. There were 4 topics to choose from, and I chose this one. What is Stealing was okay? This presentation is filled with my opinions on the statement.
Baddie Sammy Blows Up – Slides animation
Today we worked on animations in slides. My story is about a unicorn that turns into a rocket and then two people have a conversation. Watch it to find out.
The Zoo Debate – Reading
This week in Literacy class we have worked on debate this week. The topic we were given was: Should Animals be kept in Zoos? This topic is very controversial and there are a lot of reason why and why they shouldn’t be kept in zoos. My opinion on this topic is animals should not be kept in zoos.
